Manager as Leader – the Essentials of Effective Leadership Practice

One of the most common challenges we see in business today is when a great performer moves into management. If, for example, the new manager was a great salesperson, they now need to step back and look at how to be a great manager and leader – which is a very different skillset.

This foundational course is designed for up and coming and existing managers looking to become more effective leaders. We explore the cores of great leadership, how to avoid getting stuck in the ‘manager as friend’ zone, hard conversations, motivation, and how to get the best out of your team.

Manager as Coach – Developing and Training a High Performance Team

It is well known today that the majority of the workforce places high value on the investment given to them by their company. Most people expect ongoing training and growth, and for a manager to get the best out of their team they need to be able to develop their people consistently and effectively.

This ‘train the trainer’ course is all about putting on your coaching and training hats with individuals and groups you are leading. We incorporate both the keys of coaching, the steps to holding a great group training session, working with resistance and creating a culture of learning in your business.

Manager as Mind Reader – How to Lead Different Behavioural Profiles in a Team

Certain managerial strategies that work well with one team member may fall flat with another. Great teams are usually comprised of different personalities, learning styles and individuals who are motivated by different things.

This course dives into how to understand what drives your individual team members, recognise different profiles in your employees, and manage and lead those differences to truly tap into the potential of each person.

Manager of Millennials – How to Lead Different Generations in a Team

Today’s work team, on average, consists of a mix of Baby Boomers, Millennials and maybe a couple of Gen X’ers coming through. Understanding the differences, with a focus on the Millennial workforce (who are currently or will be the largest part of the workforce in the short term future), can help you to adopt effective leadership strategies that work.

This course also gives insight into yourself as a manager and leader, and how the time you were born and the environment you grew up in may have an impact on your current approaches. Great for understanding and building a collaborative team that accommodates different generational styles.
